Non-profits have a variety of ways to raise funds, but an often overlooked fundraising development tool is a BOOK. A quality book is an excellent way of delivery an organization’s message, outline programs, state achievements, showcase photos and testimonials from those who have benefitted from the efforts of the organization, and is a great gift to acknowledge donors. The cost of the book can be underwritten by a company or corporation that wants to support the organization and align itself in the community with a worthy cause.
Advocacy is another area that can significantly benefit from a book. StarGroup worked with one of our clients, Scott Greenberg, National Seniors Advocate, to help him write his informative and humorous book, Oh My God, I’m Getting Older and So is My Mom! His book became a powerful tool through which he gained national awareness, media coverage, and speaking engagements, allowing him to reach a much wider audience of senior citizens and their families facing financially and emotionally charged issues of aging.
Brenda Star, President of StarGroup International, has been an advocate for both children and immigrants and has used her own resources to compile and publish books on the importance of reading to young children, the process and privilege of U.S. citizenship, and the basics of our democracy in order to contribute to the betterment of the country.
