WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. (June 13, 2018)—West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio is pleased to announce the publication of “West Palm Beach: A City on the Move,” a book celebrating the City of West Palm Beach. Mayor formally presented the 135-page book– which features dynamic color photography and text highlighting our world-class city and everything that makes it unique, special and dynamic– on June 12, 2018 at a book-signing and launch event at the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach. The event was timed to coincide with the start of the Mandel Public Library’s Summer Reading Program, which began on June 11, 2018 and encourages children of all ages and adults to read.

Copies of the book were distributed free to the first 50 guests at the book signing and launch event. Mayor also dedicated five of the books to the permanent collection of the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach, where the book may be read and enjoyed by City residents and library patrons.

Additional copies of the book may be distributed for the purposes of marketing, business development, awards and recognition of individuals who make a positive difference in our city and improve the lives of West Palm Beach residents. The City published 2,000 copies and expects to publish even more. An online version may be available to the public in the very near future.

“The City of West Palm Beach has indeed made a name for itself… evolving into a city in the true sense of what a city is, a modern, creative, sophisticated, urban engine that powers the region, a city where anyone hoping for a bright future can find opportunity and realize their dreams,” said West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio. “It’s the people who live and work here who make our city great. Ours is a city ‘on the move’, and that was what we wanted to convey in this book. I’m really pleased to share it with the public.”

Late last year, Mayor commissioned City staff and publisher Star Group International of Lake Park, Florida with the development and creation of the book. The book showcases the photography of Christopher Fay as well as the photography of city employees, Star Group International, and our community partners: the Downtown Development Authority, the West Palm Beach Community Redevelopment Agency, Discover the Palm Beaches, Related Companies, Ocean Helicopters, Palm Beach Zoo and Conservation Society, South Florida Science Center and Aquarium, Dreyfoos School of the Arts Foundation, Bak Middle School of the Arts, Palm Beach Atlantic University, Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, New England Development, Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches, FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches, Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach and the Club at Ibis. Mayor extends her appreciation to Star Group, Mr. Fay and our community partners for their contributions.
